Getting involved at WIDPSC 2027

We welcome applications to join WIDPSC 2027 from countries around the world. In order to be eligible to participate, students should be enrolled in high school or equivalent level in the country they seek to represent.

Each participating nation has a maximum allocation of students which is calculated based on a number of factors. Depending on where you are based, you may need to take part in a national selection process. Please contact us if you are unsure of the qualification situation in your country.

Each team must bring at least one responsible adult, preferably a teacher or coach, to accompany the students and assist with judging rounds if requested. Larger teams will be asked to bring additional judges.

We particularly welcome applications to join WIDPSC 2027 from nations who have not previously participated in the competition. Please note that we will not be in a position to confirm your participation until the end of Phase 1 of registration (see below).

WIDPSC 2027 Registration Timeline

Phase 1: Pre – Registration Period (Sept 1 – Sept 25)

We invite participating schools and national organizations to register their interest in attending WIDPSC 2027, and share a non-binding estimate of their numbers of participating students and adults, as well as other information to help our planning.

Following the close of pre-registration we will contact participants to confirm their team slot allocation, and advise on the status of applications from new nations, and any requests for additional places.

Phase 2: Registration and Payment Period (Oct 10 – Jan 30)

We will confirm the final registration fee by October 10 and open our payment channels via online payment link or bank transfer. We will also open our main registration system to collect details on participating students and adults.

Phase 3: Deadline for Submission of Prepared Pieces and Confirmation of Arrival Details (by March 1)

Coaches and teachers are invited to share speech topics and readings to ensure that they conform to WIDPSC format and guidelines. We recommend this is done by March 1 to give students time to incorporate any suggested changes. We will also confirm your final arrival details to facilitate airport pickup.
